ARTNET
The basic goal of the network is to establish a common cultural space – the network of Baltic and Nordic organizations operating in the area of audio visual art – that would be accessible and rich in content.
The network will give artists, institutions and art professionals access to the information exchange resources (newly launched website, monthly newsletter) as well as new platform for cultural exchange and discussions on subjects concerning continuous progression of contemporary art languages, collaboration scenarios and expanding of territorial borders.
Culture and art project NOASS has been active for the past decade and is one of the oldest contemporary art and culture organizations in Latvia. It has cooperated with Nordic arts organizations and artists for a few years now and come to realization that such regional network is important for further development of common cultural activities.
Local and international collaboration projects are often based on personal contacts which is the reason why we want this network to be a possibility for participating organizations to share their individual and even subjective point of view on current contemporary art events in the joint Nordic-Baltic space. We also believe that the network should be visually rich and intriguing for common art consumers, giving more complete and unified sense of the region’s art scene.
