Exhibition “Letter” by Gita Strazdina
From July 23 to August 16 the exhibition ‘Letter’ by Gita Strazdiņa will be open in the floating arts centre ‘NOASS’.
A letter is a written and sent text – intended for a particular addressee with an aim to deliver certain information. This text includes a handwriting - a collection of individual characteristics and particularities that can only carry a visually understandable information about its owner. This text is a reference to existing life occurances of which you can only guess after reading a letter. Nevertheless it was important to make people see the value, which maybe only I could see at first. ‘Letter’ is a small epizode, which becomes important due the presence of the perceived human values. It guards special information, the value of which changes and becomes larger, when taken out of the context or seen anew from a distance of time.
Gita Strazdiņa received a bachelor’s degree in painting and is currently studying for a masters degree in Graphic Art at the Art Academy of Latvia. Gita has also gained experience by studying at the At Academy of Venice for one semster and by participating in different group exhibitions.
