Waterpieces 2012 the program
The 12th international “Waterpieces” contemporary and video art festival will as usual stimulate professional competition between video artists in the Baltic region, as well as provide a comprehensive insight into the latest global trends in art of the moving image through the presentation of selected programmes from renowned media and video art festivals. Among the selections on view during this festival will be short films from the futuristic urban British video art archive “Onedotzero”, the very best works from the technologically innovative “15th Japanese Media Arts Festival”, as well as a programme from the travelling video festival “CologneOFF” which focuses on geographic and artistic boundaries, while the impact of the crisis on art of the moving image will be reflected in “Austerity Measures” – a selection of videos compiled by Portuguese curator João Laia.
The festival programme will be enlivened by sets by Latvian VJs with participants including “Gas of Latvia” and F5 and performances by text group Orbīta, Kaspars Groševs, DJ Krii and $Kodek and TV Maskava.
